3D week 3

For our group exercise i got into a group with Teddy, Stevie, Sarah and Jess. the task at hand was to brainstorm and come up with a eco-friendly transport vehicle that was a 1 seater personal car.

the car we came up with is a electric battery start up car that runs on Co2 as the driver progress's on the road. it will use the electric battery for start up and get the car going, then there will be a button next to the steering will that changes the engine to Co2 which will then use the surrounding Co2 in the air/ atmosphere to power the car.

The name we have given the car is the E-Beetle.

Prac Work

i have come up with 3 different models of the E-Beetles

that have different design, size and functions.

1: The E-Betel
Is the original car with a slightly more appealing front bumper and a more powerful engine than most modern hybrid cars. the body of the car will be made of carbon fiber, which is a tough yet very light metal, which is very important to the series of car because it isn't as heavy as normal cars which means it uses less power/ fuel to get it started and functioning. the inside will all be made of recycled materials to give the car a even greener feel when driving and when just sitting

2: The E-Lady
this car is designed with a more feminine touch, than the original E-Betel. With a gentler quieter engine that also converts the Co2 form the air into a nice smelling fragrance and also it has the shape of a cute lady bug, which the body will also be made of carbon fiber and the seating and insides of the car will consist of recycled materials to make the seats, steering wheel and air bags.

3: The E-Bea ( bee)
This is the ferrari or lamboghini of the E-Beetle series, it comes with a turbo super charged engine with a custom blow off valve, added with an additional 255 horse power to give it the extra kick, and the design of this beastly bug is the shape of the bee, where the blow off valve is located in the bud/ stinger area of the bee. The build of this car will be the same in materials such as carbon fiber body, recycled materials for the insides but also will feature leather like substances ti give the vehicles a very sporty and high class feel and look.

  1. Good fun designs - good descriptions. The creative thinking path is often a windy one - and enjoyable. When it comes to communicating your ideas verbally or in writing (here) use the John Maeda "Organize" law and LABEL your ideas.

"Function / Materials / Style" were not clearly addressed here. You communicated your ideas about the design well, but not the criteria asked for.

One of the main things I get from Industry about students entering the workforce is the need to understand and address the BRIEF.

You can be creative and organized at the same time. They are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

This is a better effort than last week Zac - so keep pushing ahead.

    Well done.

  2. No update done again Zac. "Function / Materials / Style" were not clearly addressed here.

  3. Sort of addressed - but your descriptions would benefit by LISTING the criteria - then addressing them. You have done a lot of work on this, but still not addressed the criteria well.
