2D week 3

Group Work

For this i got into my group consisting of Teddy, Stevie, Sarah and Jessica. the task was to brain storm a design for 2 random chosen words and come up with different variations of them and what they could be.
The 2 random words we chose were Bread and Kite

and here is what we came up with

combing bread and kite was no easy task, practically and imaginatively. a bread kite was the one idea we could come up with that would actually work, not exactly a bread kite but a bread shaped kite. normally kites are diamond shaped, some custom ones have been made around the world, like in china there are dragon shaped kites.

PRACTICAL – Design Options

40 mins – Draft a range of 3 excellent design concepts for your exhibition portfolio

• Use any tools you wish
• Put the results and a paragraph of description in your Visual Diary
• Invent 2 different options for each of the 3 designs
• Describe how each of these options differ in
o Shape
o Media
o Style
OR any 3 criteria of your own choosing – list these criteria clearly

  1. My fantasy/ graffiti design featuring Sarah Modoh as my model for the image. it will be a 2D & 3D design, consisting of a digital edit of an image, which will be photographed. after the digital enhancements have been done to the image, i will incorporate the 3D aspect to it, which will be a spray can to help show case its graffiti medium.
  2. An advertisement/ poster about myself as a designer. The design will be done all digitally, in photoshop and illustrator. Might incorporate a design similar to the concept of the japanese flag, which draws your eyes attention to the centre of the image.
  3. A hand drawn image that will be refined digitally. the media will be hand drawn at first, like a few sketches and roughs, then scanned and refined in illustrator. the image will represent the future and the past, or something like that, the image could be a sword, gun, guitar or something rather iconic.

3 comments:

  1. Where are the PRACTICAL design concepts for your exhibition portfolio - and the analysis on Shape / Media / Style ? 40 mins of class were devoted to this.

If you add the 25 mins on the GROUP EXERCISE, there is insufficient evidence of hard work going on here.

  2. No update on this blog from you Zac. That is four in a row with no attempt to do the class exercises from you.

  3. You have updated this, but seem to have completely missed the point. You created 3 ideas - but the task was to address SHAPE / MEIDA / STYLE.
